The wait is over! and after 381 days of waiting we're finally nearing a NEW! season of Torchwood (at time of writing, it's only 9 hours and 27 minutes to go)
In that 381 days I have drank approximately 1,223 units of alcohol (calling it 2.8 units a day for my nightly tipple and adding in a bi-monthly binge), 1,143 cups of tea & 762 cups of coffee, into which i have dunked 3,810 bourbon biscuits (that's 266,700kcal FYI), in addition to this i have spent about 182,880 hours online and blinked 3,291,840 times (give or take a couple thousand.) Add to that 2,660 hours of sleep, 115 hours applying makeup and 58 hours removing it.
That's scary!
But not as scary as working out that i have spent 200+ hours watching episodes of Torchwood and many more hours talking, writing and thinking about it. It's enough to make a girl convince herself that she's obsessed or something.
Most of the time spent talking/writing/thinking about Torchwood was actually thinking about one thing in particular; the Jack/Ianto pairing. Now, in many fandoms the idea of 'slash' is usually one created by fangirls' minds, but the wonderful thing about Torchwood is that, for once, this slash pairing is not a figment of our imagination, a bi-product of decoding subtext or pure fantasy. It's real. And that is something that I think is a very good thing.
Many things have been said about Russel T. Davies in the past, mainly revolving around this 'gay agenda' conspiracy that the press, and a big chunk f the public, seem to have created. To say that Torchwood has a 'gay agenda' would be to say that every television show that pairs a man and a woman together has a 'streight agenda', and can you imagine the drama that would cause?
So, just because I like to show them, and on the expectation of many more of these moments I would like to show you some pure and un-photoshopped pictures from IMO one of the best moments from Season 1.

Don't forget to tune into BBC2 tonight at 9pm (as if you would!)

I'm literally counting the minutes till the episode airs. All the Jack/Ianto spoilers are buzzing in my ears, the trailer burned into my retinas, I'm secretly wearing my Torchwood logo button underneath my work cardigan... Oh yeah, I'm ready. Bring it on.
Thats what i dont get. if there any sort of idea that there night be a bit of gay love in it then people go aggro about it.
it wasn't so much as gay as Bi-agenda and no ones squealing murder about that because hey, it doesn't exist! You're either one of the other!
and besides, owen got all the sex scenes with females...
we didn't get an gay sex scenes! i want RTD to ramp up this 'gay agenda' he's rumoured to have!
well GDL said we see some skin, and RTD hinted yesterday that JB will have a scene with partial nudity. so i live eternally in hope.
Wow those are some very big statistics... I dread to think what mine would be.
Happy Torchwood Day! :D
I can hardly believe that Season Two is almost upon us. And I've only been in the Who 'verse for three months, can't imagine what the wait must have been like for those of you who saw it from the beginning. Hopefully the coming episode will be everything that was promised us and more!
I'm stuck in the US and won't get any until Jan. 26. But the pics are lovely. I hadn't noticed, but there are actually 2 kisses in that sequence. Nice discovery.
Whee! Happy TW Day ;)
Personally I can't wait for the squee. My dad laughed at me, when I told him I was going to buy celebratory sweets cus TW is on. But hey, I feel it was justified. :D I wasn't so exited about a show airing in ages. Can't wait to see Ianto again, and Jack, and Tosh and Andy, and Rhys and even Owen... :D Atm, I actually have hopes of liking Gwen more this year, but we'll see how that plays out.
But for the time being I'll bury myself in uni stuff and wait :D
